Volvo will provide us with a taster of the new S60 saloon when it shows the S60 concept car at the Detroit motor show in January 2009. No exterior photos have been issued yet, but Volvo today released some teaser shots of the new S60's cabin. The interior of the concept car further develops the Swedes' signature 'floating' centre console – first introduced on the S40 – and Volvo has teamed up with Swedish glass specialist Orrefors.
The first Aston Martin Rapide leaves the factory
It may not seem the biggest news in the world – Aston Martin Rapide leaves factory for customer’. After all, that is rather the point. But the gestation of the AM Rapide seems to have been so long it’s quite hard to remember who owned Aston Martin when the Rapide first poked its very elegant nose above the parapet, so it seems a big deal that complete cars are now heading out to customers.
Honda is set to provide the CR-Z with an all-new four-cylinder gasoline-engine option as part of plans to broaden the compact coupe's appeal in key world markets, including North America. Currently available with just one engine option—a gasoline-electric hybrid system that mates a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a brushless electric motor—the CR-Z is also earmarked to receive a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine currently undergoing development in Japan. The new unit, which is also planned for the Jazz, the Civic and the Accord, forms an integral part of an engine downsizing program instigated at Honda.
